Sequence of meetings
Can I just remind everyone of the reasons behind this? We discussed this at some length, and came up with a sequence. The aim was that the HBSMR User group would be first, followed by the National SMR User Group (now HER Forum). The chairs of these two Forums (fora?) would then attend the ALGAO SMR Committee and report on the previous meeting. The intention was two-fold: first, to ensure that everyone was as well-informed as possible about what was happening at all meetings, even if they couldn't get to them all. Secondly, if there were issues raised at an SMR/HER meeting that had wider implications, they could be raised by ALGAO SMR and taken up by ALGAO at an appropriate level, if the need arose. So, information and action was our intention.
Now, Mike's point about proximity of meetings is an important one. While there is this logical sequence to the meetings, there is no particular need for them to be timetabled to be close to each other. So we might want to think about how close a meeting should be to another, but it needs to be considered in relation to this set. It will always be nigh on impossible to factor in regional or local meetings, beyond just avoiding landing on the same day.
