We are seeking to make a strategic appointment at Lecturer or Senior
Lecturer level to strengthen Software Engineering research in the
Department of Computing at The Open University (OU). The successful
candidate will have an active research programme and an outstanding record
of research achievement. Candidates working in Requirements Engineering or
related areas will be especially welcome. Related areas include software
architecture and design, software dependability (safety, security,
usability, etc.), software evolution, and empirical software engineering.
The Department of Computing at the OU is a large, thriving department with
an active research programme and a deep commitment to teaching. In keeping
with the Open University's position as the world leader in distance
education, we see the Department's development in the context of
international excellence in research and teaching.
Appointment will be made on the Lecturer salary (£22,191 £33,679 or
exceptionally, up to £37,629) or the Senior Lecturer salary scale (£35,251
£39,958 or, exceptionally, up to £43,067) depending on experience.
