Jim
I have attended a video-conference just once and it was going well until the actual meeting started when the technology let us down!
I believe that EH may have facilities for video-conferencing at their regional offices, so depending on the logistics of it all, maybe we could pile into our nearest local EH (or equivalent) office. I think a conference where we all had individual video-boxes, such as used on Newsnight, might be a bit difficult to manage!

Subject: FW: Various Issues - videoconferencing
The video-conferencing option would be a great step forward, if we can get it going. Of course, it won't replace being there, any more than live football on TV can replace being at the game (unless you're a Wednesday fan, eh John?), but it will be much better than missing out.
While Martin's investigating this, should we all be investigating our end (if you'll excuse the phrase) by speaking to our IT sections:
(a) to find out if there's anything we need to have available at our respective offices, to enable us to take part?
(b) if it's not available, to ensure that our authorities realise there is a need?
I have no experience of video-conferencing, so if anyone out there has done it, any thoughts on pros and cons? I imagine it's difficult to chair such a session (or is it virtually impossible?).
Jim
