Hi,
If in doubt then a good place to start is the Short Guide to the Retention
of Documents by Andrew Hamer and published by the Institute of Chartered
Secretaries and Administrators. It's a really handy little black book and
lists all the pesky bits of legislation which are easy to forget along with
the main typers of record to which they apply.
Failing that I'd look at best practice and operational need making sure
that you cover the requirements of any legislation which could apply - then
your organisation is happy as they've been consulted and you've made sure
your policy is in line with the legislation.
regards,
Rhiannon
