Library evaluation in practice: Electronic Information Services in Higher Education
The eVALUEd Conference
Wednesday 16th June 2004
The 30-month eVALUEd project funded by HEFCE will offer a one-day conference for library and information practitioners and others on Wednesday 16th June 2004 at Austin Court in Birmingham, UK.
There will be a keynote address by the eminent Professor Charles McClure of Florida State University, who has been a consultant to the project, and we hope that a range of speakers (nine in three parallel sessions of three) from the UK will address issues pertinent to the evaluation of Electronic Information Services (EIS) in Higher Education.
Emerald has agreed to publish the proceedings as a special issue of one of its journals, and we are very pleased that this will enable us both to have the proceedings formally published and for them to be made available free-of-charge to delegates and more widely to the profession.
We would like to hear from practitioners with some experience in this area, who might be prepared to present one of the nine 30-minute seminar papers.
I would be most grateful to hear from you by Friday 5th December 2003 whether you would be interested in presenting a seminar paper together with brief information about the topic on which you might speak. We are looking for current topics of interest to the Higher Education community in the evaluation of electronic information services, particularly relating to qualitative evaluation.
We would pay travel expenses and provide lunch and drinks throughout the conference.
If we are able to confirm you as a speaker, we will get back to you as soon as possible with dates for submission of your abstract and paper.
If you would like any further information, please do not hesitate to contact me:
