The University of Texas at San Antonio invites nominations and
applications for the newly created Sue E. Denman Distinguished Chair in
American Literature. The Denman Chair is a four-year, renewable
appointment. This position is subject to budgetary approval. Ideal
candidates will have a demonstrated record of extraordinary achievement as
scholar and/or author and the desire to contribute to the intellectual
life of UTSA. The successful candidate will satisfy the qualifications for
Full Professor in the Department of English, Classics, and Philosophy,
including an exceptional record of publication. Preferred qualifications:
graduate-level teaching, thesis advising, and success in procuring
research funding. Teaching responsibilities are negotiable.
