Dear Col and all. I am now working as a psychologist and am seeing a client
who makes me think of much of the experiences related to autistic or
aspergers spectrums I have heard on the list. I feel it may be useful to
this client to read accounts of other people who may experience the world in
a similar way. I do not necessarily want to push for diagnosis or give him a
medicalised account, but want something that may show him that others
similarly find the world and it's rules confusing and that it is not because
he is different or wrong. Can anyone recommend a text I could give him?
Cheers, Regards, Sarah supple.

Subject: Dish the Dirt on Charities... What about MIND and NAS ?
Dish the Dirt on Charities. I fully actively support DAN and I'll be there
as a neurodiverse campaigner with a Autistic Spectrum Disorders and
experienced discriminatory and exclusion from the following charities in
which nee to be brought to the attention of other and accountable to all
disabled people who experience living with Autistic Spectrum Disorders and
Specific Learning Difficulties and also experiencing living with mental
distress/ill health.
The following charities below should be also made accountable for their
discrimination and exclusion in not representing the 'real-experiences' and
'voices' of disabled people they state they represent:-
MIND;
National Autistic Society;
British Dyslexia Association,
ADDiss and other AD(H)D charities;
Dyslexia Institute;
Dyspraxia Foundation, but not Adult Dyspraxia Foundation( this is run and
controlled by Adults with Dyspraxia)
Anyone who experiences living with Autistic Spectrum Disorders and/or
Specific Learning Difficulties and/or Mental Distress/ill Health, then
should 'dish the dirt' on these charities and also any other charity which
they have personal experiences.
'Say NO to Charities NOT run and controlled by disabled people'....
I'm off to the DAN Action now... So see you all in London tomorrow until
Wednesday... 'Come and Join us'...
