Position Title: Project Coordinator, ODA Accessibility Plan
Appointment Details: This is a Casual part time (3 days per week)
contract
position for 6
months (January 6 - June 30, 2004), with the possibility of a 1-2 month
renewal.
Salary Range: Prorated to 60%. $32,466- $43,436 per year.
Please note that secondments from staff appointed candidates will be
considered
with
supervisory approval.
Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Status of Women Officer, the incumbent will
draw
upon their
knowledge of the Ontarians with Disabilities Act (ODA) to coordinate and
monitor the
implementation of the University of Toronto Ontarians with Disabilities
Act
Accessibility
Plan, 2003-2004; develop priorities and write the University of Toronto
ODA
Accessibility
Plan, 2004-2005, in consultation and collaboration with key stakeholders
and
constituencies; coordinate a University Accessibility Advisory
Committee; and
develop and
coordinate a process for ongoing consultation and feedback with regard
to
disability/accessibility issues, and the ODA Accessibility Plan.
Minimum Qualifications:
-Extensive experience working with diverse populations including
demonstrated
effective
consultation skills.
-Expert knowledge of equity issues and practices, particularly those
related to
disability
and accessibility including organization-wide review, development and
implementation of
compliance obligations. Direct experience working with the disability
community
preferred.
-Demonstrated ability to produce comprehensive reports.
-Ability to interact with individuals at all levels within the
University as
well as
externally.
-Strong communication, writing and analytical skills.
-Strong organizational skills; ability to meet deadlines.
