Dear Robert,
I am a physics professor at the University of Illinois. I spend some of my time
doing sports physics, particularly the physics of baseball. I am also the
Assoc. Head
for Graduate Programs. We do not have a program in sports science or
engineering and
I do this more as a hobby than anything else. It is a serious endeavor,
however, and I have
published papers in physics journals on the baseball-bat collision. I am a
little unclear about what you are asking. Are you looking for a one-semester
temporary arrangement for the Spring 2004 semester? If so, I would be
interested in exploring this with you, particularly if you have an interest in
the physics of baseball. Please get back to me with a clarification.
Meanwhile, you might be interered in my "physics of baseball" web site,
http://www.npl.uiuc.edu/~a-nathan/pob.
Best wishes,
Alan Nathan
