Hello folks,
To add to Jasons comments, a draft project plan for the second edition of
MIDAS is available via the FISH list file archive at:
http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/files/FISH/MIDAS2ndEdProductFlo.pdf
This identifies agreement on what new 'Information Schemes' (i.e main
subject areas) will be included in the 2nd edition as one of the priorities
for the next six months. This discussion is therefore very timely. The FISH
list has had its own discussion in recent weeks, summarised at
http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/files/FISH/MIDASNoteSept2003.htm
As with any project there will need to be a prioritisation of development
work, and that will be the responsibility of the Project Board (to be
finalised at this stage). However discussion such as that on this list about
historic environment and scientific analysis recording is enormously useful
in this planning stage. If anyone would like to get in touch with further
suggestions, or to lobby in favour of work on a particular area please do
get in touch with me.
