Dear colleagues,
I suppose we can all write "deutsche Schrift" better than we can read
it, and the most impenetrable squiggles become obvious the moment
they're deciphered, but ... at http://www.hull.ac.uk/german/pmd.jpg
you will find a scanned image of a part of a page of the sketches for a
symphony by a noted composer. I, and the music student who consulted me
about this, would be grateful for any help you might be able to give in
deciphering what has been written here. We _think_ it says:
damit kannst du den letzten Satz einführen
??? kannst du dies? ???
nehmen damit du
jemandem eine
Ehre machst oder
alle zwei
but the second line especially causes trouble.
The composer is not German, so ignore the unidiomatic use of language.
In case you're wondering, he has apparently long made it his practice
not to answer questions to do with the decipherment of his manuscripts.
Many thanks,
Alan Deighton
