Best poem I ever heard live was by Roger McGough, in
1985, which together with its introduction went thus
(it works best read aloud, though you'll have to do
his laid back middle-class mersey accent yourself):
"The following poem is based on a headline I saw in
the Daily Express and is entitled 'Conservative
Government Unemployment Figures':
Conservative government,
Unemployment...
...figures"
