Salary: £18,265 - £21,125 per annum, dependant on experience
Applications are invited for a three-year post on an AHRB-funded project 'An Analysis of Post-Soviet
Russian Television Culture'. The project, which is to be located in the University of Surrey's
Literature and Visual Media Research Group, will be directed by Dr Stephen Hutchings.
Candidates should have excellent Russian, a PhD in the area of Russian Cultural Studies and a
thorough knowledge of modern Russian culture. A grounding in Russian film and media studies would be
an advantage, along with good IT skills. Some familiarity with field-work research methods would be
desirable, though not essential.
The job will involve recording and analysing Russian TV broadcasts, co-ordinating and conducting
interviews, questionnaire surveys and focus groups in Russia, organising seminars, presenting
project findings, contributing to joint publications relating to the project and participating in
the activities of the research group.
