"Is there a Russian Homosexual?: Homosexuality and Cultural Citizenship"
Prof. Baer will be talking about post-Soviet Russian discourse on tolerance
of homosexuality that understands the homosexual condition in terms of
Russian dusha, or soul, focusing on the concepts of stradanie (suffering),
acceptance (smirenie), and dushevnost' (soulfulness).
