Your three candidate definitions don't hold much water for me. Given the
fact that you can give three very different definitions, the widespread
nature of the discussion on the list and the fact that a Google search for
"secondary metadata" only turns up 102 hits (i.e. it isn't a widely used
term anyway), I would tend to agree with your conclusion.
