The North West Healthy Settings Development Unit at the University of
Central Lancashire has established a strong reputation in public health
theory and practice. The Unit will play key roles in delivering the
North West Investment for Health Plan and contribute to the Faculty of
Health's public health portfolio. To support this, the Unit is looking
for energetic and committed people to bring vision and innovation to the
following posts:
Health Promoting University Co-ordinator/Healthy Settings Development
Assistant
£25,708-£34,191 Ref: AA/139B
Co-ordinating and developing the Health Promoting University
initiative, you will also assist in delivering the wider work of the
Unit. With substantial experience working at strategic and programme
management levels, you will have expertise in evidence-based public
health/health promotion. Possessing a relevant post-graduate
qualification and an understanding of the higher education context, your
skills should include training, development, research and partnership
working.
Regional Healthy Workplace Co-ordinator
£25,708-£34,191 (two year fixed term contract - secondment considered)

Working closely with the North West Development Agency and Government
Office for the North West, you will co-ordinate and provide a regional
lead in the field of healthy and sustainable workplace development and
assist in delivering the wider work of the Unit. With experience of
workplace health, strategic planning and programme management, you will
have expertise in evidence-based public health/health promotion,
supported by a relevant post-graduate qualification. A detailed
knowledge of the healthy workplace agenda should be combined with skills
in training, development, research and partnership working.
Healthy Settings Research and Development Officer
£17,624-£27,669 (two year fixed term contract - secondment considered)

You will co-ordinate and undertake research and development functions
within a range of projects and contracts managed by the Unit, linking
public health, health promotion, regeneration and organisational
development. With experience of working in a similar context, you will
have a relevant degree and are likely to have a postgraduate
qualification. Action-focused research combined with project development
expertise will enable you to play a key role in strengthening and
enhancing the unit's research portfolio.
