I am in both camps here.
I have organised conferences and workshops in the past, on many levels. I am aware of the lack of human resources and funding to make a fully accessible event, useful to all.
Conference organisers are perfectly human.
However, full access is essential for equality and humanity.
Maybe we could project what a fully accessible event should consist of, as a resource for the future.
Just a thought,
Keith
