In anticipation of new rights of access to information created by the Freedom of Information Act 2000, Bexley has created a post of Information and Records Manager to take responsibility for developing and co-ordinating records management, information access arrangements, and compliance with other associated legislation across the Council.
This is an important new role, which will be central in developing and implementing policies and practices and providing training and guidance on a range of records management issues.
We are looking for a records manager with at least five years records management experience and an understanding of the implications of recent legislation for local authorities. Excellent IT and communication skills are essential. Evidence of effective project management would be an added advantage.
For an informal discussion about the post, please contact Julie Keith, Head of Democratic Services on 020 8308 4927.
Given their under representation at this level in the organisation, applications are particularly welcomed from suitably qualified ethnic and disabled candidates.
