It may interest you to know that Richard Wall and I are working on a
project to re-identify all the material collected by the enumerators for
the censuses 1801-1831. This will be more than the lists in the various
Gibson/Chapman guides as it will contain variable-by-variable
information. A short guide should be available in paper form before the
end of the year.
There's also an article by Royle which may be of interest: Royle, S.A.
'Clergymen's returns to the 1831 census'. Local Historian, 14 (1980),
79-90.
