Based at Bainbridge, in Wensleydale
This new post, supported by English Heritage, involves providing advice to the National Park Authority and to government agencies, farmers and landowners etc on the management of archaeological sites and historic landscapes in the Yorkshire Dales. Promoting an understanding of the historic environment through outreach activities is required.
You will have a Degree in Archaeology or equivalent, and at least two years post-qualification experience of working in British archaeology, preferably in an upland environment. A good understanding of the historic environment and of agricultural practice and issues affecting the farming economy is essential. Experience of archaeological field survey and SMR work is desirable as is membership of the Institute of Field Archaeologists. You must be IT literate, particularly in Access and Word.
