CONFERENCE
2003
Set in tropical Singapore, this Conference is designed to be highly
interactive yet informal. It encourages participants to explore
unparallelled visions of the future and dream of new possibilities for
people with disabilities.
Appropriately themed "Disability in the New Millennium", the APDF
Conference
will take place in Singapore at the YWCA Fort Canning Lodge from 26 - 28
November 2003. The APDF Inaugural Meeting and Conference 2003 is set out
to
support the UNESCAP resolution 58/4 on promoting an inclusive,
barrier-free
and rights based society for people with disabilities in Asia and
Pacific
Region in the 21st Century. It also aims to promote the 2nd Asian and
Pacific Decade of Disabled Persons, 2003 - 2012.
The APDF Inaugural Meeting and Conference 2003 offers delegates a unique
opportunity to share ideas, experiences and best practices as well as to
network with leading industry colleagues, respected individuals and
visionaries on how people with disabilities could develop their
potential
and work closely with the government and the community to enhance their
interest and well-being.
