Dear all,
I am about to start the process of revising the UK LOM Core with the aim
of releasing draft 0.2 by the end of the year. The aim of this revision
will be to weed out typos, clarify guidelines and to review the Core in
the light of recent metadata developments with the UK and further
afield.
I would like to stress that the data model of the UK LOM Core will
remain unchanged between draft 0.1 and draft 0.2. No existing mandatory
elements will be demoted to recommended and no recommended elements will
be promoted to mandatory. Similarly, no elements will be added to, or
removed from, the IEEE LOM conceptual data schema.
If you have any comments regarding the UK LOM Core that you would like
to be taken into consideration during this revision or if you have
spotted any typos, errors or inconsistencies please send them either to
the CETIS Metadata SIG mailing list or to me directly at
[log in to unmask] I already have a record of comments that list members
have sent in over the last few months and these will be addressed in
this revision.
Best Wishes
Lorna
