Funny, I was under the impression that the SHO recruitment difficulties of
the mid to late 1990s were now resolved...perhaps not. I can't speak for
"shortage" departments myself but, like Rowley, the London teaching
hospitals remain pleasantly deluged with high quality applicants. We
normally have 500 for straight A&E posts, with around 300 more for various
rotational posts. And I've heard that my more "distant" neighbours, out in
Essex and Herts, who hitherto had great difficulties, are now also enjoying
large numbers of good applicants.
John, I hope to catch you - and anyone else who's "listening" in for that
matter - for beers in Barcelona next weekend!
Regards
Adrian
