Life were simpler when I were a lass. I looked up Persil Powder on
Toxbase and found that the lethal dose for an adult was around 70kg of
the product. Left me wondering how anyone could ingest 1% of that.·°º
I appreciate that modern detergents are much more potent. Dishwasher
detergent (contains sodium metasilicate IIRC) is particularly nasty and
very alkaline.
Methinks crying wolf could be counterproductive and some people might
fail to appreciate how corrosive some substances can be after false
alarms like the OP described.
