Before this gets out of hand could I ask a "simple" question. What are the
indications for scanning chests and abdomens? What will get the radiologist's
attention? What clinical conundrum can only (these days) be answered by
looking in the body cavities with magic rays? Can anyone suggest a list of
absolute indications for ressus room to CT as soon as possible?

USS is not part of radiology, it is part of clinical examination. Not doing
ultrasound equates to not putting your hand on the belly of a patient with
abdo pain.
Accept that I take an extreme view.
--> Yes. It does appear as if you do not view your own (and everyone else's)
work as having been adequate until you were given an USS machine. I must say
I have not heard many who admit to depend so extremely on a piece of
equipment.
