GRADE: R&AII SALARY: £25,451 - £33,679 pa (PAY AWARD PENDING)
The Directorate of Physiotherapy is part of one of the largest multi-
professional Health and Social Care Faculties in the UK. Due to increases
in Physiotherapy provision exciting opportunities have arisen for suitably
experienced physiotherapists to contribute to the ongoing development of
physiotherapy at The University of Salford.
A new and innovative joint post has been instigated which aims to further
develop and enhance links between the Directorate of Physiotherapy and the
Centre for Rehabilitation and Human Performance Research. The research
Centre is a multidisciplinary grouping of mainly health care professionals
working on a broad range of research topics. A central theme is research
into human movement disorders and this and allied research is funded by
over 1 million pounds of current external research grants. The Centre has
over 20 active researchers and will have further laboratory facilities
costing £400K in the new £15 million Faculty building.
The aim of the post is to work with the established team of researchers to
facilitate the building of research capability within the Physiotherapy
team. The integration of research and teaching activity at postgraduate and
undergraduate level is considered vital and this post will be strategic in
shaping the development of programmes especially at postgraduate level.
The successful candidate will be a Chartered Physiotherapist who will
enhance the research activity and profile of the Directorate within the
broad area of neuromusculoskeletal rehabilitation. They will have a record
of publications in peer reviewed journals, the potential to contribute to
the generation of research income and the desire to create a long term
