<color><param>0100,0100,0100</param>The International Feuchtwanger Society, which was established in
Feuchtwanger's old home at Villa Aurora, Pacific Palisades,
California in July 2001 and which held its first conference there and
at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, in April
2003, has just published the first edition of its twice-yearly
Newsletter-Rundbrief. It is intended that the news let ter should
appear twice yearly, in the spring and fall, though this first edition is
pub lished in August 2003 and a second will follow in December
2003. It is free to members of the Society. The focus of the
newsletter is research relating not only to the lives and works of Lion
and Marta Feucht wanger, but also to exile from Ger many in the
period 1930-1960, with par ticular reference to the European-
American cultural exchange in this period. The news letter aims to
publish short research reports, news from the field, con ference
reports, material from the archive, reports from the society,
occasional reviews of new publica tions of interest, and biblio
graphical infor mation. Contributions may be in German, English,
French or Russian. All material is welcome and should be addressed
to the editor - Normally it should be between 500 and 1,000 words
in length (1-2 pages A4). We hope that the newsletter will be
successful in furthering interest in the Feucht wangers and in exile
studies in general.
The Society can be contacted through the Web pages of the
Feuchtwanger Memorial Library at:

The President is Professor Ian Wallace (Bath). Secretary and

be sent, is Pol O'Dochartaigh (address at the end of this e-mail). The
contents of the first edition are given below. The deadline for
submissions to the second edition is 5 December 2003.
