Cultural Geography Specialty Group Post-Graduate Session
This session which is organized by postgraduates for post graduates, aims
to identify emergent trends in post graduate cultural geography, with a
special emphasis on cross-disciplinary and cultural approaches.
Specifically, approaches which intersect the disciplines of art, history,
cultural, environment, gender and media studies, anthropology, sociology,
psychology, linguistics, and language with applied critical and cultural
theory are being sought. Emphasis on international themes and topics, as
well as culture and environment, as are topics involving the synthesis of
new and emergent technologies are sought. The application of G.I.S to
historical and cultural themes, and the elucidation of literary geographies
are welcome. It is hoped that the session will attract diverse postgraduate
participation and will provide a synergetic platform to identify emergent
themes that can utilize cultural geography theory and practice, as well as
a sense of how the discipline may be shaped in coming years.
