We have had no quibble so far about the indications for CT scanning but
we do have an issue with regard to the timing. In particular I am
thinking about the recommendation that if more than 8 hours have elapsed
since the injury and a CT scan is indicated this must be requested
immediately and carried out within an hour. For some of the softer
indications this potentially means a lot of normal CTs in the middle of
the night. Our Radiology service is entirely Consultant provided and I
wouldn't want to get up at night to deal with some of these.
What does the list think?

What has been the reaction of your local radiologists to the recent
publication of the NICE guidelines?
Has access to CT scanning improved? and have you seen a reduction in the
number of skull x-rays requested?
