There seem to be 3 major players at present; Footman Walker with Symphony, IMS with their
system whose name escapes me for a moment and the edis system from HASS. As you have
noted, PAS vendors are also looking at entering the market with 'PAS extensions'. Traditionally
these have been of more interest as a purchasing gimmick for buyers than any use as A&E
systems, but these things can always change. I have recently seen demos or used for a while all
of them, as well as the Oasis PAS e-oasis extension, and I think there is one pretty clear leader.
However, it is not reasonable for me to impose my opinions, and I urge you to ask all the
companies to visit you to demonstrate their systems. You need to ask about their support,
whether they need to run specific systems, and you need to work closely with your IT project
manager on how it fits in with the rest of the the Trust's plans.
Best wishes,
Rowley Cottingham
