The person appointed will be based in the Centre for Comparative Research in
Social Welfare (CCRSW). He/she should hold, or be about to complete, a
doctorate; have a good understanding of central issues in policy-related
comparative social research and relevant research experience (including of
successfully applying for external research funding and writing for
publications). Desirable attributes are language skills, a good knowledge of
social policy systems in one or two European countries outside the UK or
Germany and an interest in the interface between social policy and labour
markets.
