Call for papers
The Fifth Australasian User Interface Conference
(Incorporating the Workshop on Wearable, Invisible, Context-Aware,
Ambient, Pervasive and Ubiquitous Computing)
Dunedin, New Zealand, January 18 -- 22, 2004
http://www.cosc.canterbury.ac.nz/auic/
The Australasian User Interface Conference (AUIC) is a
technology-focused forum for user interface researchers and
practitioners from Australia and New Zealand, and throughout the world.
The conference, which is one of several conferences that constitute the
Australasian Computer Science Week (ACSW), provides an opportunity for
workers in the areas of HCI, CSCW and pervasive computing to meet with
colleagues and with others in the broader computer science community.
All papers in the proceedings of ACSW conferences (including AUIC) are
archived in the ACM Digital Library.
In 2004, AUIC incorporates the Workshop on Wearable, Invisible,
Context-Aware, Ambient, Pervasive and Ubiquitous Computing that was
successful during ACSW 2003.
As with previous years, registration to the Australasian User Interface
Conference will enable delegates to attend sessions in any conference
participating in the Australasian Computer Science Week.
Key Areas
We solicit original papers, short papers, and demonstrations describing
research or innovative practice, as well as proposals for workshops and
tutorials. AUIC invites participation and submissions from researchers
and practitioners with an interest in techniques, tools, and technology
for improving user interfaces over a wide range of areas, including the
following.
* User interface architectures, tools, techniques, and technology.
* Innovative applications and user interfaces, including VR, multimedia,
and adaptive interfaces
* Distributed interfaces, including the World Wide Web
* Ambient and highly mobile devices (PDAs, wearable computers)
* CSCW, group work, groupware, and computer-mediated human communication
* HCI education
