I'm sure there are major data protection and privacy implications, but is
any public library service using barcoded membership cards to control and/or
record access to restricted areas in their buildings, eg special
collections, leisure facilities in multi-purpose buidings, washrooms and
toilets, etc., in the way that bank cards admit account holders out of
business hours?
