The Research Technologies Service (RTS), based at Oxford University
Computing Services, brings together local, national and international
initiatives focusing on the support of research activities and utilising
leading edge technologies. One of the strengths of the RTS is a diversity
of expertise. Current staff have backgrounds in academia, public services

We are looking for a Systems Developer to join the two-year JISC-funded
DCOCE Project in developing a detailed evaluation and implementation
report of 'real world' digital certificate services at the University of
Oxford. You will be responsible for developing, implementing and
maintaining the technical infrastructure for managing the digital
certificate lifecycle over the two-year period of the project.
You will need an appropriate degree or extensive relevant experience, a
working knowledge of languages or tools for developing applications for
online information systems (e.g. JAVA, XML, LDAP). You will also have some
familiarity with emerging technologies and standards for access management
systems (e.g. x.509; OpenCA; SSL) within the context of a PKI.
You should have a genuine enthusiasm for developing online services, be
willing to learn about new technologies, and want to join a friendly
multidisciplinary team. The ability to manage deadlines and to communicate
well is essential.
