Teaching Bursaries for Postgraduate Research Students
The School of Modern Languages invites applications for up
to 10 teaching bursaries which are available for students
who register on a postgraduate research programme of study
(MPhil or PhD). For UK/EU students, each bursary is worth
£4,000, which will cover the cost of the student's fees for
the academic session (£2,940 full-time in 2003/04) and a
stipend of £1,060 towards living expenses. For
international students, the bursary of £4,000 will
contribute towards the cost of fees (£7,800 in 2003/04).
Successful candidates will be expected to teach up to 100
hours (approximately 4-5 hours per week) for the School.
Appropriate training in teaching methods will be provided.
Awards will normally be renewed annually for the duration
of the student's postgraduate programme, subject to
satisfactory progress.
