Hi
We've had no major adverse reaction so far with Keys to the Past although
obvioulsy we are not launched yet! However, the Durham SMR has been online
in its raw form via the county council website and the Northumberland SMR
is available via ADS for some time now, and AFAIK there have been no
complaints. However, I suspect this partly due to the fact that most
landowners aren't aware of these resource. I think we have had only one
expression of concern, and that was from a large estate, when we asked for
permission to put photographs of a survey they had commissioned on the
internet. They were worried about public access issues, we assured them
that it would be well signposted on the website that just because a site
was on the internet it did not mean public access, and also pointed out
that the SMR is a public resource, and we have heard nothing more from
them.

Subject: SMR information online - adverse reactions from landowners
Dear all,
In considering our HLF application, the expert advisor has suggested that
we
consider the risk of adverse reactions from landowners to SMR information
being made available over the Internet.
We were wondering if anyone has experience of this as result of putting SMR
info online, or perhaps as a result of the entry-level CSS scheme being
piloted at present?
A quick response (on or off the Forum) would be much appreciated!
