Dear Group
I am currently undertaking a research studentship (MPhil/PhD) in 'citizenship and group rights for Deaf people who use sign languages' at the University of Central Lancashire in Preston, England. My intention is to set up focus groups in the British Deaf community, using Will Kymlicka's concept of group rights as a framework. In reviewing the literature, I am eager to identify references to similar research approaches in relation to other minority groups or communities. In particular, I seek literature or research that has employed fieldwork to explore the concept of group rights for minority communities, and I am also interested in the analytical approaches that were used in interpreting such qualitative data. Ideas and comments, references or contacts with other researchers would be very much appreciated.
Thank you for your time and assistance.
