Adrian's point taken - they are quite independent. I have a third
waiting to go, so do have a go at them.

And if you must run two cases side by side, Rowley, then could you at
least try to distinguish them a little more clearly? With almost
identical subject titles, apart from a digit that has no inherent
connection with the case material, it's going to be confusing in a few
days time when some wag posts a one-line response like "remember serum
osmolality"! At least if you call one case "the coma case" and the other
"the trauma case" then we'll instantly know what we're dealing with.
This is particularly important for those of you who never post the
original text in your emails (and you know who you are).
But perhaps I'm being too curmudgeonly this morning...maybe the damn
cases are related after all! You did say that the coma case (from number
1) interupted your dealing with two trauma cases at the time, which I
initially took to be completely irrelevant. But the trauma case (from
number 2) arose from a truck from Holland (which I also took to be
completely irrelevant except that it would be left-hand drive), while
the coma case (from number
1) was possibly some type of poisoining. Are there any amateur sleuths
out there...
