That's why we are the mugs and the new generation won't do it. I work my b****cks off for the NHS trying to keep the place going. We are now picking up more and more Primary Care work and as I have said on the list we are idiots. When I first became an A&E Consultant the GP used to ring me up to discuss a difficult case. They now just tell them to roll up to A&E, not even a referral letter.
When I hear from Robbie what they earn for it I realise what a fool I have been. We are being pressed into the dirt with breachs of the 4 hour wait door to needle times.
I'm not joking quite serious if anyone can give me a job as a GP with 4 months a year off and for more money that I earn now when do I start.
Many DGH A&E depts will have to close next year anyway. They will be bounced back to the GP. With EWD's the SHO will have to have a 30 minute break in the middle of the night. What so they expect, the Consultant to come in and releive them?
