Your ENP should be prescribing from the same formulary (or a subset thereof) and to PGDs that tie
down what they do extremely carefully. I can forward you our PGDs if you wish, Matthew, as they
have been signed off by the pharmacists and the microbiologists. I do not have data on changes in
community resistance patterns, and I suspect that the changes made by a few ENPs will be well below
the noise levels from community prescribing by GPs, who write the vast majority of scripts. It may
help for your concerned microbiologist to talk to one of ours?
