Hi!
my name is Luca and I' m a Ph.d student of Business Management.
I' m working in a research aiming to explore the "dwarf firms", meaning
those small and micro businesses whose structure (e.g., product portfolio,
markets, strategic positioning) and management routines have been kept
unchanged over several decades, and often since their start up.
In particular these are my research questions:
-Is dwarfism always a structural disease for small and micro-firms? Or is
it, rather, a physiological condition for a number of businesses whose
entrepreneurs may, deliberately or not, pursue growth?
- Are quantitative parameters the most suitable indicators of health for a
dwarf firm?
- Can one detect in such context any peculiarities concerning the dynamics
of strategic resources (e.g., knowledge, relationships with stakeholders,
loyalty, culture, etc.)?
- To what extent can they be seen as symptoms of future dimensional growth?
How can they be used as levers to foster change by entrepreneurs who wish
to re-shape their dwarf firms?
Could you, please, suggest me any materials and/or sources that may be
helpful?
I look forward to receiving from you a reply.
Regards,
Luca Raimondi
