The review team is now embarking on a series of focus groups for the above
review, which also covers records management. I am looking for some
volunteers to attend the following sessions, please.
The most urgent is one we have booked for next week, Wednesday 14 May, to
be held in the Family Records Centre, Myddleton Street, London, between
11.30-1.30 at the latest. We still have some spaces on this, and would like
to ask records managers employed in a business environment if they would be
willing to attend and offer us their views. All we ask is that you have
strong views on the issues of training and recruitment, and are not afraid
to voice them (anonymity is guaranteed). People at all stages of their
career are welcome at this session.
Other sessions on offer, for those working in a non-business environment
are on offer;
For those who qualified within the last five years, to be held on Thursday
29 May, between 1.00-3.00pm at Tyne and Wear Archives
For those in middle management, to be held on Tuesday 3 June , between 1.00-
3.00pm in the Dept of Information Studies, University of Sheffield
If anyone is interested in attending any of these sessions, please contact
me. Can I put out a particular plea for attendees at next week's session? I
feel it is vital to take the views of records managers working in business
on board, as we know from work to date that there are particular issues,
and that many of you have strong views.
Thank you in advance
