I am informed by my ICT that the ability to disable the creation of a copy Sent message is not just restricted to Groupwise; it applies to all e-mail systems. It just happens that, in Groupwise and Netscape, the facility is easy to find, in other systems such as Outlook it is buried a little deeper.
I am not entirely happy with this but unless there is an obligation to keep a copy it becomes a matter of personal preference for the sender. The Acts only require that where information is stored it can be recovered - I summarise!
If there are serious record-keeping implications, you will need to discuss options with your ICT.
