The EUROCALL Research Award 2003
This annual award aims to encourage newcomers to research in the field
of computer-assisted and technology-enhanced language learning by
providing an opportunity to submit an original article for publication
in ReCALL, the official journal of EUROCALL which is published by
Cambridge University Press.
The benefits of the award are:
- The guarantee of publication in ReCALL
- Free registration at a EUROCALL conference *
- One year’s free membership of EUROCALL
- Feedback and advice on the writing of research articles (for all
candidates)
To compete for the award, candidates should be actively engaged in
relevant research, either working towards a PhD or other postgraduate
qualification, or having recently completed one. Articles should be
submitted by 15th May 2003, according to the information set out in the
ReCALL Notes for Contributors
(http://www.hull.ac.uk/cti/eurocall/recall/contrib.htm), and should be
clearly marked 'EUROCALL Research Award'. A short curriculum vitae
should accompany the article, together with a letter from the
candidate’s institution confirming their research status. All
submissions will be considered by the ReCALL Academic Advisory Panel
and by the EUROCALL Executive Committee, whose decision will be final.
The name of the winner of the award will be announced at the EUROCALL
conference and on the EUROCALL website, and the article will be
published in ReCALL as early as possible. The Committee may decide to
publish more than one of the articles submitted, but only one award
will be made annually.
* The registration fee normally excludes accommodation costs, but may
include some meals. The award does not include the cost of travel.
