Thursday, 22nd May 2003 - London
This one-day meeting follows a recent survey of NCUP Members seeking
opinions on the Government White Paper as a consequence of which we have
been invited to convey our findings to the Department for Education &
Skills. Please circulate this information around your department.
Speakers include:
Dr Liz Beaty, Director for Learning & Teaching at HEFCE on HEFCE Policy
Professor Claire Callender, South Bank University on Student Debt
Professor Ron Barnett, Institute of Education, London on The End of the
University
Professor Geraint Johnes, Lancaster University on Student Finance
Professor Maurice Kogan, Brunel University on Reducing the Research Platform
Professor Gavin Reid, St Andrews Univ & NCUP President (Conference Chairman)
Professor Michael Shattock, Institute for Education, on Teaching & Research
Attendance is open to Professors and Senior Academics, whether or not they
are current members of the NCUP. Time and places are limited so enrol now.
Fees are:
£60 for NCUP Members,
£80 for Non-members, and
£20 for Emeritus Members [Fee includes lunch]
(Cheques to be made payable to the "National Conference of University
Professors" or an invoice will be send on request.)
We would advise that no refunds will be given unless notice of cancellation
is made by Friday, 16th May 2003.
