Dear Denise
Would you consider Malaysia? we're running rehab cetnres in a few private
hospitals around Malaysia and are always desperately in need of staff
specifically those who have experience of team work. We had some elective
students from Nottingham Uni last year and it was great fun and a good boost to
staff morale to have new ideas and energy for a short while.
Our main problem is work permits but if we call it an elective and give an
allowance rather than work and a salary we dont fall foul of immigration laws
(very strict here).
Your other bet could be an NGO like VSO or equivalent but normally they expect
at lest 2 years work. It can be a real life-changing experience - that's how I
came to Malaysia originally 18 years ago!
