It should be added that this proposal has been discussed in the NorthGrid
meetings, and it was agreed that Manchester should proceed with bidding for
this post. They have a good case as stated, and are the only NorthGrid
institution that have been able to find matching funding. It is to be hoped
that future posts do not come with such restrictions!
