Apologies to all for the previous mail that was meant for Themis, I didn't
notice I was replying to a list posting!
As to the subject, its an interesting question. My gut feeling is that for
precisely the reasons Themis raised in our meeting last November, that we
are the kernal of a regional resource with potential interests beyond HEP,
it is not a bad thing for us to have our own identity. After all, ScotGrid
pre-existed GridPP and will not be dissolving into it. I would hope we are
seen as a partner to co-operate with not a component resource to be
controlled. (I am aware of my growing paranoia here!)
In purely practical terms, if we don't reserve it, I would bet someone else
will take the name.
Naturally, we should be linked from the GridPP site though.
Cheers,
Roger
