In the document, you refer to "The cost structure of the products of the major commercial suppliers". Do you mean the pricing structure of the suppliers?
I have done some work in evaluating the financial costs and benefits of evaluating on-line learning. If we allow for the initial development costs to be discounted over an appropriate period, at an appropriate discounting rate, there are significant savings to be made (costs of repro, copyright, staff etc.) This is just in the variable costs. There may be other implications for fixed costs.
Is anyone else working on this? I would be pleased to hear from them.
