Dear all
My apologies if you receive this message more than once.
There are still a few days left to register for the ARLIS seminar on managing trade literature collections. Although this day is aimed primarily at librarians, the speakers will be talking about their collections, and you may be surprised what gems of information you may pick up for your own or your readers'/students research.
Speakers include:
Julie Ann Lambert, the Bodleian Library, Oxford on the John Johnson Collection of Printed Ephemera
Gaye Smith, Manchester Metropolitan University on 'Trade literature for art and design: the historical collection at MMU'
as well as Katherine Baird (London College of Fashion), Dor Pontin (freelance to the construction industry) and Margaret Pope (research consultant) and myself (National Art Library, Word & Image Department, V&A)
The seminar will be in the Bernard Leach Room at the V&A on Monday 19th May 2003 from 10.30-17.00. Refreshments and lunch will be provided and are inlcuded in the fees:
ARLIS members: £80; non-ARLIS £100; ARLIS students £40 and non-ARLIS students £50.
We are hoping that this will be the start of regular discussions and possibly even a website devoted to trade literature and its use as a reasearch tool.
Please contact me for a booking form or further information.
Thanks
Deborah
